You may have heard of Finger Lakes camping destinations such as Naples, Auburn, Rochester, Ithaca, Elmira, Geneva, Skaneateles, Cortland, Syracuse, and Fair Haven, as well as popular attractions including the Strong Museum of Play, Seabreeze Amusement Park, Corning Museum of Glass, NASCAR at Watkins Glen International, Watkins Glen State Park, the Sterling Renaissance Festival, the Hill Cumorah Pageant and the Great New York State Fair. Hammondsport and Owego, NY have both been recent winners in Budget Travel’s annual “Coolest Small Town” contest.

Can you name all eleven Finger Lakes?  From east to west: Otisco Lake, Skaneateles Lake, Owasco Lake, Cayuga Lake, Seneca Lake, Keuka Lake, Canandaigua Lake, Honeoye Lake, Canadice Lake, Hemlock Lake, and Conesus Lake.

Did you know? The Erie Canal extends across the entire northern area of the Finger Lakes region. You can access the Canal for a variety of recreational use, including museums, biking and hiking paths, boating, canoeing and kayaking, plus additional attractions and events celebrating the bygone era of this marvel of transportation. The Cayuga-Seneca Canal connects the Erie Canal to Cayuga Lake and Seneca Lake.
