Camp New York!
May 25, 2020: In a May 24th announcement, Governor Cuomo has specifically included campgrounds in the list of essential businesses, and announced NY campgrounds and RV Parks can be open statewide as of May 25th (Memorial Day). See the Guidance on Essential Services - https://esd.ny.gov/guidance-executive-order-2026 - and look under Section 2: Essential Infrastructure - hotels and other accommodations, including campgrounds.
Working closely with their county health departments, campgrounds must take precautions to ensure campers maintain appropriate social distancing and adhere to proper cleaning and disinfecting protocols, including but not limited to maintaining six feet of distance between campers, unless wearing an acceptable face covering, excluding persons from the same household who are camping together. So be ready and willing to follow all established park rules and protocols - it is for your safety and the safety of others. Also, call ahead and confirm your reservations so the campground is prepared for your arrival - avoid showing up unannounced. This is all subject to change as New York State and counties monitor COVID-19 outbreaks and adjust their responses accordingly, so flexibility and understanding is appreciated as we move forward. THANK YOU!
