Believe it or not, warmer weather is (finally) in the foreseeable future, which can only mean one thing: New York State camping season is upon us.
The Adirondack region of New York is scenic, beautiful and relaxing, offering a variety of Adirondack camping options for you to get your camping fix in. That’s why Adirondack camping is a great place for you to start your camping season on the right foot. These particular campgrounds in NY offer endless activities, amenities and events for you, your family and friends to enjoy. Some of the more notable events include the Americade motorcycle rally and the Adirondack Wine & Food Festival, both located in Lake George, NY.
Since it began in 1983, Americade has become the world’s largest multi-brand motorcycle touring rally, attracting anywhere from 100,000 to 200,000 visitors in just six short days. Motorcycle enthusiasts find themselves right at home when immersed in this festival, which includes guided tours throughout the Adirondack Park, a massive tradeshow with 200 vendors as well as demos and displays from big-name motorcycle manufacturers.
The first full week of June (6/5 – 6/9) is when this event takes place. Typically, the beginning of June brings about bright, warm and sunny weather in the Adirondack region, which is perfect for this famous festival.
If you’re not big into motorcycling, there are still other fun events happening near our Adirondack campgrounds for you to enjoy, like the Adirondack Wine & Food Festival (6/23 – 6/24).
Returning to Lake George for the fourth consecutive year, this festival showcases some of the best wineries, breweries, distilleries, food vendors, crafts and food trucks in the region. As Lake George is known to be a family-friendly vacation destination, this event is perfect for families. A Kids Activity Tent will be available on-site, as well as a state-of-the-art playground and skateboard park.
Of course Lake George isn’t the only destination located in the Adirondacks. We’ve written before about some of the unique things to do when visiting the Adirondack region. In addition to these destinations, there are also a number of other activities that are worth exploring. Check out some of these upcoming events:
